Diesel generator sets sometimes experience oil leaks, particularly those from domestic brands, where such leaks are quite common. So how can we identify the specific locations of the leaks and then address the problem? Here are several solutions recommended by diesel generator set manufacturers: 1. The paper gaskets purchased or homemade may not meet the required quality standards—for example, they might be too thin, improperly stored leading to wrinkles or deformation, or contaminated with dust and impurities due to inadequate cleaning during assembly. All these factors can cause oil leaks. 2. Excessive oil pressure can also lead to oil seepage at static joints. 3. The quality of the static joint surfaces themselves is influenced primarily by the precision of the machining equipment used and by proper storage and transportation conditions.

The quality of purchased or self-made paper pads does not meet requirements—for example, they may be too thin, improperly stored leading to wrinkles and deformation, or assembled without paying attention to cleanliness and thus contaminated with dust and impurities. All these factors can cause oil leaks.
2. Excessive oil pressure can also cause oil leakage at the static mating surfaces.
3. The quality of the static mating surface itself is primarily determined by the precision of the machining equipment and the storage and transportation conditions. If the equipment boasts high precision, the flatness and roughness of the static mating surface can both meet the design requirements specified in the drawings. Moreover, as long as care is taken during storage and transportation to prevent impacts and scratches, it is not difficult to achieve a completely sealed static mating surface. However, due to the relatively low precision of equipment and process levels at some manufacturers, as well as inadequate storage and transportation conditions and management practices that cannot fully guarantee the absence of impacts and scratches, achieving a perfectly sealed static mating surface remains challenging.
