Fight the high temperatures and sweltering heat to ensure production.
— Chongqing Push Company is actively taking measures.
Ensure safe production and a “cool summer”
“City of Furnaces”—Chongqing has been enduring an unbearably sweltering summer this year. Starting from mid-to-late July, the city has entered “barbecue mode,” with extreme high-temperature weather lasting for over 40 days already. Now that we’ve entered the “autumn tiger” period, the scorching heat shows no sign of easing. The situation is even more intense at the production workshop of Chongqing Push Company: exposed to outdoor temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, the indoor temperature in the workshop can soar to a stifling 50 degrees Celsius. Sweat-soaked work uniforms have left white salt stains forming intricate patterns across employees’ backs. Assembly workers are drenched in sweat, constantly wiping the perspiration from their foreheads with their hands. At every stage of the production process, all employees carry out their tasks with precision and composure. Through their simple yet dedicated actions, they embody what it means to love one’s job, be committed and devoted, and uphold the spirit of craftsmanship and national strategic equipment. The company has consistently regarded heat prevention and cooling as its top priority, adopting multiple measures to ensure that heat-prevention efforts are thorough and effective. It strives to create a comfortable working environment for frontline employees, providing strong support for cadres and staff as they battle the intense heat, maintain production, ensure stability, and strive for greater efficiency.
1. Cadres take the lead in staying on the front lines.
To boost employees’ enthusiasm for work, as we enter the summer season, the company has called on all Party members and cadres to set an exemplary example and truly show care for employees, putting people first. The Production and Operations Department has reasonably adjusted working hours according to weather conditions, making every effort to avoid working during periods of intense heat and the hottest part of the day. During this critical and challenging period, all company cadres and employees have aligned their thinking and taken decisive action, demonstrating a spirit of hard work, resilience, and determination in overcoming difficulties. Everyone has united as one, pooling their strengths and efforts to ensure the smooth implementation and completion of various production tasks, including the Shuangta Biogas Project, the Wuliangye Biogas Project, the Zhuji West Gas Project, and the Rongxin Gas Project.
II. Bringing Heat-Prevention Awareness to the Front Lines
Following the requirements of the Push Group’s “Safety Production Month” campaign notice, the Production and Operations Department has started with publicity and training on heat prevention and cooling measures. It is making full use of pre-shift and post-shift meetings as well as the Safety Production Month activities, and is conducting knowledge training and publicity on heat prevention and cooling through platforms such as DingTalk, WeChat, and bulletin boards. This effort aims to enhance employees’ awareness of first-aid knowledge for heatstroke prevention and cooling, strengthen their self-protection consciousness, and carry out “heatstroke emergency drills” at high-temperature work stations to ensure the practical application of heat-prevention knowledge.
Since the onset of the hot summer, the Production and Operations Department has proactively obtained heat-prevention and cooling supplies from the trade union and distributed them accordingly, ensuring that each employee receives heat-relief medicines such as Huoxiang Zhengqi Water, Ren Dan, and Shidi Shui. Chairman and General Manager Wang Kangsheng, leading the management team, personally visited the workshop sites on behalf of the company’s trade union to offer heartfelt greetings and encouragement to frontline employees. He also requested the establishment of distribution points for cooling foods like watermelon, mung bean soup, and purified water. Furthermore, he mobilized Party members and Youth League members to go deep into the front lines, delivering heat-prevention and cooling supplies as well as heartfelt care directly to the hands and hearts of frontline workers.
III. Equipment Maintenance and Upkeep Ensure Safe Summer Production
To address the impact of high temperatures on personnel and equipment, the heads of the Production Operations Department and the General Management Department personally led weekly special inspections and hazard identification efforts under the “Four Preventatives for Summer.” To ensure the normal operation of facilities and equipment, before the onset of high temperatures, comprehensive inspections, maintenance, and servicing were carried out on workshop air conditioners. At the same time, all levels of staff were required to strictly adhere to the summer equipment management regulations, paying close attention to the maintenance and upkeep of critical and key equipment, and ensuring that no equipment failures are left unresolved overnight.
“Three nines and three dog days—severe cold and scorching heat”—this is an immutable law of nature. At Chongqing Push Company, the approach is to maintain high employee morale and work enthusiasm, even in conditions far exceeding normal temperatures, thereby ensuring that our daily tasks are carried out effectively. Only by persisting in this way can we guarantee the steady and safe operation of our production activities.
