On September 5, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued the notification for science and technology programs for 2013. The high-power, low-energy-consumption medium-speed diesel engine project (project number: 2013GH041510) submitted by Chongqing Push Machinery Co., Ltd. has been approved by the National Torch Center and successfully included in the 2013 National Torch Program.
The Torch Program is a guiding initiative aimed at developing China's high-tech industries. Approved by the government in August 1988, it is implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology (formerly the State Science and Technology Commission). The program helps promote the commercialization of high-tech achievements, the industrialization of high-tech products, and the internationalization of high-tech industries. Enterprises that receive approval under this program can enjoy joint support from both national and local authorities in various aspects, including markets, information, funding, management, and services.
Currently, the “Zhongpu” series of high-power engine products from Chongqing Push Machinery Co., Ltd. includes: a diesel series (i.e., a high-power, low-fuel-consumption medium-speed diesel engine series); a clean-energy series (i.e., a high-power gas engine series); and corresponding generator sets.
The high-power, low-energy-consumption medium-speed diesel engine project—selected for inclusion in the 2013 National Torch Program after successfully passing the approval process—is a collaborative effort undertaken by Chongqing Push through a strategy of external introduction combined with internal integration. In this project, Chongqing Push has partnered with renowned domestic and international enterprises, universities, and research institutes. Building on the industry’s existing practice of importing and digesting foreign technologies, the company has boldly pursued innovation, developing and manufacturing new products that boast independent intellectual property rights and reach internationally advanced levels. To date, this project has achieved remarkable results: two product series—the GPL0483D series and the GPL1108D series—have been successfully developed, capturing a significant share of the market. These products feature numerous advantages, including a compact structure, elegant appearance, excellent power performance, high reliability, low noise, minimal vibration, low operating costs, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and ease of use and maintenance—all of which have earned unanimous praise from customers. Meanwhile, the design team has leveraged TRIZ principles to pursue bold innovation, securing authorization for 73 national utility model patents and 1 invention patent during the product design and development phase. Additionally, two more invention patents and several utility model patents are currently under review.
Currently, the R&D team at Chongqing Push Company is still working to identify and address any shortcomings in the design, while also taking into account issues uncovered during production and feedback from customers. They are continuously striving to refine the product structure and enhance product quality, aiming to provide customers with even stronger performance.
The high-power, low-energy-consumption medium-speed diesel engine project has successfully been included in the National Torch Program, which will enable Chongqing Push to secure relevant government policy support—enabling it not only to enjoy preferential policies such as tax reductions and exemptions and receive certain R&D funding, but also to access broader shared markets, information networks, product promotion platforms, and other resources provided by the government for enterprises. This will help elevate the brand image of the “Chongqing Push” product series on a larger scale and enhance its market competitiveness.
